Trip to Florida

So our trip is rapidly approaching. Liz was able to put the work aside and leave Minneapolis on the same flight as Greta and me. This is such a relief as I couldn't imagine flying alone with a baby. We will stay with my aunt and uncle who have more than graciously extended their welcome. For those of you who don't know me well, all of my family resides in Florida, New York, Texas, Seattle, and Virginia. The Palmiter's were transplanted to Minnesota back in the late 1970's and we have since become an alienated tribe. Both my mother and father are from Miami, and they are bound to Minnesota by career obligation. You go where the money is. As a result of this transplantation to MN we have voulentarily alienated ourselves from our extended family. I therefore find it particularly moving that when we announced our Florida vacation (to our Floridian family) my Aunt Marybeth and Uncle John took it upon themselves to roll out the red carpet. They requested that Liz send them a list of foods that we prefer, and even asked the size and brand of Greta's diapers. We are feeling a bit spoiled! A big thank you in advance to the Florida family.

My cousin Kolene arranged our trip. She is an executive travel agent who took time out of her busy tax-return-travel-season to help us find a beautiful hotel that we will stay at in between visiting with family additionally a great deal on a rental car.

If you need a truly great travel agent that is patient, intuitive and so easy to work with, e-mail me and I will provide you her contact information. She books internationally. Thanks Kolene!!! You found us such great deals and we owe you big time!

While we are in Florida we plan to do some deap-sea fishing, celebrate my Aunt Bernie's (29th) birthday, spend a day in Naples, snorkel, shop, and catch up with my family. I especially anticipate the time that Greta will spend with her great grandparents Herb and Mary.
Wish us luck on our first airplane trip with Greta! I will update upon our return with plenty of photos.
