Welcome to ECFE Welcome to Fatherhood!
My family is on our second session of classes at the Hopkins location. ECFE is a great resource for everything from books on child development to toys that you can bring home for a while. The classes have given us an opportunity to give our daughter some time to interact with peers in an environment that nurtures self discovery. The first day at class they had us sit in a tight circle and sing "the welcoming song" followed by several other children's tunes. We signed up for class with some good friends who had a baby around the same time as us. The father was my roommate on a study abroad trip to England back in 1995. England was a time of careless drunken abandon. Late nights at the pub etc... So here we sit in 2005 singing the Little Shark song while exchanging nervous glances that spoke to how out of place we felt in this little circle. That was my first real "Welcome to Fatherhood"!
